North Ga. youth take part in national event

The North Georgia Conference was well represented at Youth 2011 at Perdue University in West Layfette, In.
This annual gathering brought together 3,700 United Methodist youth from all over the country and the world.
Tonya Lawrence of Cascade UMC and Taressa Thompson of Keeney Memorial UMC served on the design team for Youth 2011. They have been working for three years to make the event a success.
Ralph Thompson of Keeney UMC, Layne Jackson of Grace UMC (Covington), and Asia Howard of Glen Haven UMC served as Lab leaders. They guided a thousand middle schoolers through the small group curriculum, helping them build relationship with other youth from all over the world.
Rori Blankey of Winters Chapel also served as Lab leaders with the senior high youth.
Olu Brown of Impact UMC served as the Bible Study leader each day.
Kevin Alton of Ringgold UMC supported the scared space during the event.
Youth from Mount Zion- Marietta, Cascade, Winter’s Chapel, Calvary, Dacula First, Glen Haven, Grace- Covington, Ben Hill and Impact attend the event.
Youth 2011 broadened the understanding of the United Methodist Church and the Body of Christ as the youth played and worshiped with the amazing group gathered.
