Emory Clergy Care’s StoryCare: Gathering the Stories of Clergy and Clergy Spouses

I will open my mouth in parables,
       I will utter hidden things, things from of old-

what we have heard and known,
       what our fathers have told us.

We will not hide them from their children;
       we will tell the next generation
       the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD,
       his power, and the wonders he has done

Psalm 78:2-4 NIV

The mission of Emory Clergy Care’s StoryCare project is to enhance the community life and effectiveness of United Methodist clergy persons, their families, and the populations they serve through recording “living word” narratives of their ministry experiences.

We want to give our clergy persons and clergy spouses an opportunity to share their core thoughts about their experience in ministry at the 2008 Annual Conference and to hear one another’s stories via Emory Clergy Care’s website in the near future.

Please sign up to tell your story at the Emory Clergy Care table at Annual Conference.  You will be given approximately 3-5 minutes to respond to the following question:

If you had two minutes to tell the world what is most important to you in ministry, what would you say?

In the words of Malcolm Muggeridge, “Every happening, great and small, is a parable whereby God speaks to us, and the art of life is to get the message.”

Thank you in advance for sharing your story for the increase of our inspiration, understanding, and connection to one another as children of God and members of the church!
