4. EXPLAIN
Be sure your congregation knows the basics:

  • Who: Nearly 1,000 United Methodist delegates from around the world (including 14 lay and 14 clergy from North Georgia)
  • What: Gather to make updates to the Book of Discipline and the Book of Resolutions, to worship, and to be in conversation about some of the most important issues facing the church today.
  • When: April 23 - May 2
  • Where: Fort Worth, Texas
  • Why: The General Conference Session is an extremely important meeting in the life of our church. As the top policy-making body of the international United Methodist Church, General Conference is the only body that officially speaks for the denomination.
