North Georgia United Methodist Women Attend SEJ Gathering

More than 100 United Methodist Women from North Georgia joined women from 14 other Conferences from across the Southeastern Jurisdiction in Hampton, Va. to celebrate the Quadrennial Meeting of UMW.
Participants as young as 10 and as old as 80 traveled by bus, plane, car and van to celebrate the theme "Called By Name." More than 1,200 women worshipped thru song, scripture and prayer. They enjoyed focus groups, explored mission opportunities, fellowship, and inspirational messages. The meeting was highlighted by a greeting from National President of the Women's Division, Kyung Za Yim.
Eleven women from the SEJ were elected as Directors of the Women's Divison including Dr. Grace Pyen of Dunwoody UMC. Election of the new UMW Leadership Team for the Southeastern Jurisdiction was also conducted. Dianne Spencer of Columbia Drive UMC in Decatur was elected Secretary of the Southeastern Jurisdiction UMW Leadership Team.
