David Jones

David is a third-generation Methodist pastor on his father’s side of the family.  On his mother’s side of the family, his grandfather and great-grandfather were both Methodist pastors.  Combined, David is a fourth-generation UM pastor.

David served eight years as chair of the North Georgia Conference Board of Ordained Ministry, and currently serves as a North Georgia Conference Trustee.  David is also a member of The World Methodist Council.  The churches David has served range in membership from 40 to 4,500 members.

David’s first experience of General Conference was in 1972 when he took time off from college to work as the assistant to the Director of General Conference. 

David’s wife, Cathy, is a dental hygienist.  His son, Cameron, is the Director of Communications and New Initiatives at Camp Glisson and is married to Brittany.  His daughter, Shannon, is working on her PhD in political science at Georgia State University.

This is David’s fourth General Conference; the first as an alternate delegate in 2000, and then he served as a delegate to the 2004, 2008, and 2012 sessions.
