YL2L (Youth Learning to Lead)
“From Ordinary to Extraordinary” is the theme this year for both annual conference AND a new opportunity for developing youth leadership. YL2L stands for Youth Learning To Lead and that’s exactly what will happen on June 11 -13 at Young Harris College in Young Harris, Georgia. Identify those youth in your church who are either already leading in your youth ministry OR who have leadership potential. Bring individual youth or your entire youth council – and come ready for a great weekend of learning, lots of fun, inspiring worship, connecting with others from across the conference, and making plans for ministry! Not only is this a great way to develop youth leadership within your own church or district, but there are also opportunities for conference youth leadership. Our Conference Council on Youth Ministry for 2010-2011 will also be formed that weekend. The cost is $125 per person. YL2L will begin at 6:30 pm on Friday, June 11 and end at 11:30 am on Sunday, June 13. Adults will need to participate for youth who register at a ratio of 1 adult for every 6 youth. We will be housed in Hillgrove residence hall at Young Harris College with two people per room. Meals will be served in the dining hall on Saturday and for Sunday morning breakfast. Our worship and learning sessions will take place in the new “Blackbox Theater” at the college. We’ll also enjoy the beautful outdoor setting nestled in the North Georgia mountains. Some of the learning will cover things like: • Knowing Ourselves • Knowing God • Knowing the United Methodist Church • Knowing What It Takes To Lead • Knowing How To Be a Servant Leader
