The North Georgia United Methodist Conference (NGUMC) has received donations to support the recovery/rebuilding of the homes/lives so drastically changed by the tornadoes that struck several areas in north Georgia on April 27, 2011. In order to fairly distribute the donated monies among the impacted areas of north Georgia and to better assure that these funds are used to support the recovery/rebuilding for the tornado victims, the NGUMC has determined that a grant process will be implemented. Entities requesting funds from the NGUMC should follow the guidelines/criteria listed below and complete the information requested on page 2.
The grant request should not exceed $20,000.
1. Requesting Entity
Only Long Term Recovery Committees, Community Organizations Active in Disasters, or similar community based recovery agency or organization in the areas of Georgia that were impacted by the April 27 tornadoes will be approved to receive requested funds.
2. Targeted Beneficiaries
Provide numbers and description of your targeted beneficiaries (Men, Women, Children, Aged, Rural, Special Ethnic Populations, etc.), including number of homes expected to be repaired.
3. Criteria for Selection
Fully describe how you will use the case management process to select your targeted beneficiaries.
4. Project Description and Timetable
Briefly describe how grant funds will be used and how any associated activities will be accomplished. What is your project’s timetable?
5. Project Administration
Provide the total number of project staff and job descriptions of each; provide roles and responsibilities of each project staff member; describe how the project will be administered.
6. Project Budget
Provide a detailed budget for the requested funds.
