Grants

 

Connectional Ministries Grants

NGUMC Connectional Ministries provides mission and ministry related grants to North Georgia United Methodist Churches, organizations, and/or related agencies. These grants are solely for the use of ministries based in the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church.  Grant awards are based on the following:

  • Availability of funds,
  • Ability to further the mission of the United Methodist Church by supporting one or more of General Conference 4 Focus Areas: (1) Ministry with the Poor, (2) Improving Global Health, (3) Develop Principled Christian Leaders, or (4) Create New & Renewed Congregations.
  • Adherence to the procedures listed in the Guidelines for Funding Requests and alignment with the provided guidelines.

             

The Connectional Ministries Grant, in the amount of $500 or more, is awarded to local congregations, organizations and/or related agencies.  This grant is intended to help support innovative ministry ideas that are aimed at effectiveness and improved vitality. Click here for Grant Guidelines.

GAP Grants are awarded in the amount of $500 or less to local congregations by Connectional Ministries.  GAP Grants are             intended to help local congregations in closing a funding gap in a pinch.  Local churches are eligible to receive these grants             once every four years.   Click here for Grant Guidelines.

Other Grants Available to the North Georgia Conference

 

The ER Park Medical Mission Fund provides support for medical mission teams from the North Georgia Conference that support medical, dental and/or vision relief (including equipment and supplies) and service efforts of domestic and international partners associated with the general church or the North Georgia Bridges Initiatives. Apply Here

Peace With Justice Grants requests are awarded to a United Methodist local church, district, conference, or other                      affiliated organization, or an Ecumenical group/organization working with and through at least one United Methodist agency             or organization which "Witnesses to God's demands for a faithful, just, disarmed, and secure world."  Apply Here 


Housing and Homeless Council Grants are awarded to churches and non-profit agencies that provide shelters, soup                   kitchens, transitional housing, clothing closets, and other services to very poor and/or homeless persons. Apply Here
