Short Description: Here are a few tips on radical hospitality from Gainesville First UMC. Learn how they worked to welcome folks on Easter Sunday.

Long Description: On Easter Sunday, we expected to welcome many church members, friends, visitors and guests to our campus.  Here are some ways we desired to extend an offering of radical hospitality...

Coffee, Juice, & Donuts
Weather permitting, we planned to offer coffee, juice, and dougnuts in our beautiful courtyard on Palm and Easter Sundays.  We urged our congregation to join us and be intentional about welcoming and greeting all people.  (Rain location plan was also listed.)

Parking
Satellite parking was made available for those who graciously will leave on-site parking to members, neighbors, and friends who need parking closer to the church.  Folks were instructed to look for the banners indicating the pick-up and delivery sites at 2 locations.  There was to be continuous shuttle service between parking lots beginning at 7:30am.  The last shuttle was due to run 30 minutes after the conclusion of the 10:55am worship services.

Name Tags
Members were urged to wear their name tags.  The Church Office was ready to help anyone who hadn't received one yet.

Nursery & Children
We offered loving childcare during all worship services for infants-2 years.  Also, we offered loving childcare and special Easter lessons for children up to kindergarten age during the 9:30am and 10:55am services.  We planned to use their usual Sunday School rooms.

Worship One Hour - Serve One Hour
We sought folks who would be willing to offer themselves in service for one hour on Easter morning.  We needed volunteers to help with greeting, hosting, driving shuttles and golf carts, food service, and much more!  Folks only needed to contact our Church Office with their name and the the time they'd like to serve.
