Identify exceptional youth and invite them to explore ordained ministry. Mentoring works!
Emphasize ordained ministry as a potential vocation for youth throughout the year.
Create a display board with information about United Methodist loans and scholarships. Include Ministerial Education Fund information.
Ask Sunday Schools and/or small groups to do a sessions on vocation. Make this a priority for youth and young adult classes.
After observing a Call Sunday, offer a class taught by the Senior Pastor using the Christian as Minister resource available through Cokesbury.
Share your personal story of call to ordained ministry.
If your church has had people enter the ordained ministry, compile those stories for publication in the newsletter or in a separate booklet distributed during worship.
