I am thankful for the opportunity and privilege to serve as the chairperson of the Witness Team of the Connectional Ministries. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the following persons for their faithfulness and leadership to their specific area of ministry:  Carol Cook (Secretary), Martha Aenchbacher (Worship), Tom Davis (Stewardship), Alice Rogers (Career & Vocation), Nancy Watkins (Archives & History), Dick Williamson (Evangelism) and Rev. Gerald Thurman (Cabinet Representative).  Likewise, I am grateful to the clergy and laity who served on the various committees and Dr. Winston Worrell (World Evangelism Institute) for his assistance and involvement. Furthermore, thanks to Shari Rates, who provided direction and visionary leadership to the team.

The Witness Team consists of the following ministries:  Archives and History, Career and Vocation, Evangelism, Stewardship and Worship. It is the goals and objective of the team to train, equip and enable churches, church servant leaders and others to share the good news of Christ through the various means of servant hood.   The specific areas provide individuals the ways and means to express and exercise their faith in meaningful ways.

The Witness Team through the Office of Connectional Ministries’ website provide links to key information, resources and training opportunities for churches to reach their potential in bringing persons to Jesus Christ and develop a faith-driven life of discipleship and servant hood.

The text in Micah, “act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God”, has provided direction and leadership for the past annual conferences. The final exaltation from the prophet is a mandate for us to have a right relationship with God which must begin with humility.   Therefore, as we witness to the good news of the gospel through the remembrance and celebration of our Wesleyan heritage, servant hood, stewardship, praise and worship, we humbly and with joy live out our faith.  We challenge the members of the North Georgia Annual Conference to walk humbly before God and utilize the resources and schedule events sponsored by the Witness Team.  The individual area reports will highlight and emphasize the scheduled opportunities for awareness and growth.
