Worship

The Vital Congregations Initiative challenges annual conferences and districts to equip people to invite others to experience God and the community of faith. The task of the Worship Team is to provide training opportunities and resources for clergy and laity to prepare the faith community for excellence in worship and radial hospitality.

In addition to the above stated specialized ministries, the Worship Team will host the following ministry areas:

  • Evangelism

Outreach & Mission

The Vital Congregations Initiative challenges annual conferences and districts to equip people to take their faith outside the church walls into their community and world. The task of the Outreach & Mission Team is to provide training opportunities and resources for clergy and laity to equip people to take their faith outside the church walls into their community and world.

In addition to the above stated specialized ministries, the Outreach and Mission Team will host the following ministry areas:

  • Disaster Response
  • Health, Welfare and Wellness
  • Missions/Global Ministries
  • Resettlement
  • Bridges
  • UMVIM

Resourcing (Connectional Ministries Staff)

The Vital Congregations Initiative challenges annual conferences and districts to equip people to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. The Connectional Ministries staff will provide training and resources as requested by clergy, laity and District Superintendents in the following areas (including but not limited to): Trustees, Finance, Staff Pastor/Parish Relations Committee (P/SPRC)

Leadership and Advocacy

 

The Vital Congregations Initiative challenges annual conferences and districts to equip people to create healthy communities of faith. The task of the Leadership Team is to provide training opportunities and resources for clergy and laity to create healthy communities of faith.

In addition to the above stated specialized ministries, the Leadership Team will host the following ministry areas:

  • Christian Unity and Interreligious Concerns
  • Church and Society
  • Creation Care
  • Disability Concerns
  • Ethnic and Local Church Concerns
  • Great Starts
  • Native American Concerns
  • Peace with Justice
  • Persons in Poverty
  • Religion and Race
  • Status and Role of Women

Discipleship

 

The Vital Congregations Initiative challenges annual conferences and districts to equip people to connect to God, each other and their community. The task of the Discipleship Team is to provide training opportunities and resources for clergy and laity to encourage people to connect to God, to each other, and their community through small groups.

In addition to the above stated specialized ministries, the Discipleship Team will host the following ministry areas:

  • Camp and Retreat Ministry
  • Children’s Ministry
