Wesley Woods Senior Living Board announces Simpson Estates at Wesley Mountain Village. This naming of the existing cottage development for seniors in Blairsville, Georgia was approved at the annual board of directors meeting in May.
“Simpson Estates connects Miss Ludie Simpson’s hope of providing retirement housing for seniors with the Wesley Woods Senior Living mission, ‘To enable people to age with grace,’” stated Kenneth Weber, President and CEO.
Simpson Estates is located on the campus of Wesley Mountain Village, established in 1979 on 130 acres of beautiful, rolling wood land near the Nottely River and adjacent to Meeks Park. We believe Miss Simpson would be gratified to know that seniors in North Georgia are being served in her name on property that is so geographically similar to her family’s land at Simpsonwood.
In addition to Simpson Estates, Wesley Mountain Village is also home to Branan Lodge that serves low income seniors in 138 apartments. Residents from the cottages also use some of the common space at Branan Lodge for life enrichment gatherings for social and educational events.
The legacy of Miss Simpson’s gift continues. Wesley Woods Senior Living received funds from the Simpsonwood property sale to financially undergird the two Atlanta area retirement communities servicing low income seniors and for other purposes in keeping with WWSL’s core mission of serving older adults through the provision of retirement communities.
Wesley Woods Senior Living, affiliated with the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church, was founded by the North Georgia Conference in 1954. It has eight facilities in six locations throughout North Georgia.
