The Rev. Dr. Quincy Brown, newly appointed associate pastor of Peachtree City United Methodist Church in Peachtree City is the featured preacher Aug. 2 on “Day 1” with host Peter Wallace, the nationally broadcast ecumenical radio program also accessible online at Day1.org.
Before coming to Peachtree City UMC, Brown led efforts for a new church plant in Newnan, Ga. For 17 years he worked as chaplain and vice president for spiritual life at LaGrange College in LaGrange, Ga. While at the college he served on the staff of LaGrange First United Methodist Church.
Brown holds B.S. degree from DeVry, an M.Div. from Candler School of Theology at Emory University, and a D.Min. from the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta. He's the author of two books: Q.U.E.S.T.: Stories as Guides Through Life's Transitions and The Q.U.E.S.T. for Vocation: A Personal Journey to Discern a Life's Calling.
His sermon for Aug. 2, based on Exodus 16:2-4, 9-15, is entitled “You’re Not Yourself When You Are Hungry.” Brown says, “When our desires go unmet, we forget God’s abundance and complain that God isn’t working fast enough to meet our needs.”
