The River of Life named most outstanding non-profit in Butt’s County

The River of Life, a ministry of Stark United Methodist Church, Griffin District, has been awarded the Most Outstanding Non-Profit Organization in Butts County by the Butts County Chamber of Commerce.

Organized in 2004, the River of Life was born with the mission to assist local homeowners with repairs that were financially or physically to daunting to perform.

Over the last six years, the River of Life has assisted 47 homeowners by: replacing 12 roofs; constructing 17 wheelchair ramps, building 8 porches, painting and weather-proofing the exterior of 15 homes, and various other projects.  Most workers are under the age of 17.

The River of Life is currently planning their 7th annual event.

Despite the fact River of Life members are pleased with the Butt’s County recognition,  they stand firm in the belief that this is an opportunity to express the love of Jesus Christ and assist those in need.
