A Year Later: Flood Rebuilding Update and Call for Teams

Thanks to all who have helped in the rebuilding of homes following the September 2009 flood in Cobb County west of Atlanta. We have been blessed with a steady stream of teams and individuals that have come to work for a day, several days or a couple of weeks. As a result we have been able to get over 40 homeowners back in their homes.

However, the work is not yet done. We recently learned that we will be getting a few more homes that need complete inside rebuilds. So once again your help is needed.

We anticipate a need for rebuilding teams through the end of this year and maybe into January 2011. One or two teams a week is the target and weekend teams will also be welcome. You are encouraged to keep teams to 8-12 members with at least 2 members skilled in rebuilding (e.g. dry wall, window and door installation, trim, flooring, cabinet installation, painting, etc.).

Housing is available in local churches.

Please prayerfully consider what you can do to help in the effort to restore people’s homes and lives that have been impacted since last September.
