Buford First UMC youth on a mission
Members of the youth group made 10 fleece blankets for the children of Scottish Rite Hospital. The blankets will be given to patients in the hospital to use there, and take home with them. The blankets are not hard to make, but require a lot of time to cut and tie the edges. They are extremely soft and will bring warmth to a child in the hospital.
The youth have been incorporating F.O.A.M. (Focus On A Mission) during their Sunday night UMYF sessions. Each week, members focus on a different mission as a project or learning opportunity. This year, the youth have held sessions on their Compassion Child, which is a child they support in Africa, and Bake and Take, when cookies were made and delivered to homebound church members. They also mailed care packages to college students.
