Churches respond to pay for food shipments to Uganda
By WILL ZANT
Great is the faithfulness of United Methodist churches in North Georgia.
Over the last month, the Uganda Bridges team sought funds to send shipments of Stop Hunger Now food packages over to Humble School in Uganda to feed the students. So far, $3,863.24 in donations has been received.
We are so grateful for the response from our churches. We still need $5,636.76 to cover the total cost of $9,500 (the total cost for the shipment was reduced by $2,000).
These 285,000 packets of food will greatly help vulnerable children by providing them with a nutritious daily diet. The Humble United Methodist School in Mukono, Uganda is providing a safe environment for more than 200 of God’s children.
There are children from the most volatile countries in the world who need our help. They are from places like Rwanda, southern Sudan and northern Uganda. Many of these children have known only a life of refugee camps, malaria, dirty drinking water and HIV/AIDS. God cares about these children and their future.
