Upcoming Event highlights
Confirmation Retreats at Camp Glisson
The confirmation retreats, held February 17-19 and Feb 24-26, are designed primarily for 6th-8th graders, but can include senior high if they have not yet been confirmed. The goal is to enhance the confirmation experience of churches who might not have their own confirmation retreat for those young people who are learning more about what it means to follow Christ and to make a profession of faith. It will be a weekend of learning from a variety of educational experiences and presentations by leaders in the conference, inspiring worship, some fun and games, and times for the youth to reflect on their faith and their desire to follow Christ and join the United Methodist Church. To register, please visit ngumc.org/confirmation. For more information, contact Meg Morrison via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Spiritual Life Retreats at Camp Glisson
“B-On Fire,” is the theme of the weekends (March 2-4, 9-11, 16-18, 23-25) and will be our torch as we explore how to keep the smoldering coals of the Holy Spirit burning within us. The theme is based on Luke 24:32 – "And they said one to another, Did not our hearts burn within us, while He talked with us by the way, and while He opened us to the Scriptures?" The weekends are stocked full of spiritual kindling that will help spark a scorching passion in you and your youth group’s faith journeys. Worship, small groups, fun and games, experiential activities and much more will get you “fired up” as you join in building a lasting “B-On Fire” with other youth groups from across the conference. After the Early Bird registration time frame, the cost is $130. To register, please visit ngumc.org/slr

Healthy Church Initiative Orientation at Simpsonwood Conference and Retreat Center
The Healthy Church Initiative (HCI) is a process designed to transform churches. Our focus is on providing resources and strategies to church pastors, staff, laity, and congregations so that they in turn will be able to reach new people for Christ and become the church God wants them to be in their community.
HCI sessions will be held 1-6 p.m., Monday, Jan. 30; 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 31 and 8 a.m.-noon, Wednesday, Feb. 1.
There are three main components to this process: Continuous Learning - both for pastors and laity; coaching - both for pastors and churches; consultations.
Bob Farr, Director of Congregational Excellence for the Missouri Annual Conference is a pioneer forging a path of transformation that is reaping rewards in Missouri churches with growth and a new focus on our Mission as a church.
Come and experience an overview of the process from start to finish from Bob and his team in this jam-packed, three-day event. You will walk away with the information needed to make a decision about starting the process in your conference.
Registration, through Jan. 15, is $299.00. Late registration is $399.
Please contact Ken Willard at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
