Many opportunities to be connected


Connectional Ministries invited you to take the opportunity to “connect here” throughout last month’s Annual Conference session. Whether it is your call to lead a mission trip, your turn to teach Disciple Bible Study, or you have the opportunity to serve on your church finance team, Connectional Ministries is here to support you, open doors for you and help train you.

Below are a few of the ways Connectional Ministries can help connect you with the resources, information or inspiration you need. 
This series of partnerships between the North Georgia Conference and other annual conferences around the globe offers you a way to connect in ministry  by going, praying or giving to projects in El Salvador, Uganda, Israel, Portugal, Russia, Bahamas, The Phillipines, locally through Action Ministries or through out the world through World Methodist Evangelism.
There are two opportunites to participate in UMVIM training online via Adobe Connect (no special software needed, just a computer with internet connection and a phone). Dates are July 31 and August 25 (9am-12pm). The cost is $25.
Safe Sanctuaries
New laws in Georgia make all volunteers working with children mandatory reporters of suspected abuse. There is important information on the Safe Sanctuaries page on how to educate your volunteers. Find tools and information
This summer churches are invited to participate in World Refugee Day and to “Celebrate Abundance.” RRISA (Refugee Resettlement & Immigration Services of Atlanta) is offering a packet including flyers, fact sheets, and sermon resources.
Strengthening the Black Church for the 21st Century
African American congregations in NOrth Georgia are invited to attend “Equipping Congregations for Fruitful Ministries: August 9-11 in Montgomery,  Ala. Early Registration Deadiine: July 27, 2012
Youth Leadership
The Conference is soon electing leaders for the Conference Council on Youth Ministry. If there are youth in your church who would make great leaders at the Conference level, let us know.
