Responding to Floods in Philippines

8/10/2012

As many of you know, we have recently established a Bridge with our brothers and sisters in the Manila, Philippines Episcopal Area. We have been in contact with the interim Bishop – Daniel Arichea – and he has informed us that Manila and the surrounding provinces have been severely affected by storms and resulting flooding. Fifty one people have died and tens of thousands are homeless and in need of basic necessities.

The best way for us to respond to the need of our friends there is by donating to the Advance fund for the Philippines Emergency using North Georgia Fund #8740.

Checks may be made to NGUMC with note of "Fund #8740: Philippines Emergency" and mailed to:
Conference Treasurer's Office
PO Box 102417
Atlanta, GA 30368-2417
