Chatsworth, Ringgold churches vying for grants
As part of their Fighting Hunger Together initiative, Walmart is giving out $3 million in grants for the most innovative and effective programs that help alleviate child hunger. First United Methodist Church of Chatsworth and Ringgold UMC are in the running to each win one of 100 grants. The churches are asking for votes, which will help the chances of winning.
The funds will be used to support Murray County Saturday Sacks (Chatsworth) or Nourishing Children in Catoosa (Ringgold). Here’s how to vote. Now through April 30, go to http://apps.facebook.com/walmartlocal/?applet=hunger&organization=15&agency=1 (Chatsworth) or
http://apps.facebook.com/walmartlocal/?applet=hunger&organization=15&agency=2 (Ringgold) to vote. You can vote once a day, so please vote as often as you can.
