A special event is being hosted by the General Board of Pension and Health Benefits for young clergy. Revitup – For a Lifetime in Ministry is a valuable opportunity for clergy between the ages of 25 and 39 to improve personal, financial, and leadership skills that will positively develop their life and ministry.
This event will kick-off on Monday October 28th at 12p.m. with a special, Grammy-nominated, performance by After Edmund, a Christian rock band. After the mini-concert, there will be a time for worship before classes begin. Every day will start with worship before Core Classes and Choice Sessions continue throughout the rest of the day. The final class of the event will begin at 1:15p.m. on Wednesday, October 30th
Every attendee will attend every Core Class and have a choice of 4 out of the 8 Choice Classes. There will also be 25-minute Special Opportunity Sessions available. Core Classes provide guidance on financial planning, reducing and managing debt, taxes, expecting the unexpected, personal health, and balancing personal life and ministry. Choice Class options involve learning how to deal with conflict, spiritual disciplines, stewardship, church health, creative ministering, dealing with money in the church, General Board tools and services, and raising money. Special Opportunities involve benefit reviews with the General Board, meeting with a Certified Financial Planner, accountant or tax consulting, and pastoral counseling.
