Cafe Faculty Have Captured Our Hearts: Thank You for Your Ministry
Connectional Cafe, the online catalog of training topics available to churches and districts, would not be possible without the dedication and countless volunteer hours of our faculty. More than 100 laity and clergy across the North Georgia connection have given their time and expertise to assist local congregations, sub-districts and districts to increase their effectiveness in ministry.
Meet just a few of our faculty!
Virginia is Director of the Housing and Homeless Council of the North Georgia Conference. She is a Deacon in Full Connection who sees her calling as connecting the church to the needs of the poor. She has devoted over 25 years of her ministry to serving homeless people. Some of the workshops she has volunteered to lead include:
Anika is an ordained deacon in the North Georgia Conference. She has more than 40 years of experience working with communities and persons returning from incarceration. Brett has led congregations to dramatically turn their attention outward to its community. He brings a commitment to evangelism, mission and communication to his ministry. The second-career pastor previously was a sportscaster, salesman, and politician.
DeDe has been a professional Christian educator for over 20 years. She is a passionate advocate for children and those who work with them. She has an infectious joy that spills out into everything she does and is an excellent presenter for groups of any sized church. Some of the workshops she has volunteered to lead include:
Byron has served as an Elder in the North Georgia Conference for more than 10 years. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he earned a B.A. in Religion and Philosophy from Virginia Union University in Richmond and a Master of Divinity degree from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Pastor Thomas is committed to active church advocacy for issues of community concern.
