We'll invite you to hear the lectionary texts again for the first time and return with a sermon plan for the months ahead. Bishop Mike Watson will lead the Tuesday morning session and Dawn Chesser, Director of Preaching Ministries at GBOD will be a resource person all week.
For: Clergy (those who preach following the lectionary and those who don't)
Pieces: Confirmation Retreat
“Pieces” is the theme as confirmation classes from across the conference gather to worship, learn, have fun and fellowship as they discover their part in the Body of Christ, experience some of the history of the Christian heritage, and celebrate the diversity and the connection that makes us who we are as United Methodists. The Spring Confirmation Retreats are Feb 28 to March 2 & March 7 to 9. (Each weekend is the same, so choose the one that fits your calendar best.) The retreat is held at Glisson Camp and Retreat Center in Dahlonega and costs $110 per person if you register and pay by January 15th. After the 15th of January the cost is $130.
For: Confirmation classes
Reach: Spiritual Life Retreat
Youth groups from across North Georgia will gather to discover and experience struggles and joys as they "reach" this spring at the North Georgia Conference Spiritual Life Retreat (SLR) at Glisson. The retreat focuses on the spiritual growth of the youth and youth groups as they encounter God's word through worship, inspirational talks, breakout sessions, experiential learning, friendships, and building bonds with your church's leaders as well as with Christ. Each worship time, talk, and breakout session will be directed at helping youth and youth groups come together on an understanding of how God is reaching us. Choose from four weekends starting mid-March through early April.
