Acevedo: Christian Life is a Journey - And That's Also True of Vital Congregations
Rev. Jorge Acevedo Among Speakers at LCI2014
Even after Jorge Acevedo began a life in ministry he still didn’t like the local church.
“The church was at best a necessary evil for me to endure while I went about saving souls for Jesus,” said Acevedo
His ‘conversion’ meant grasping Christ’s heart for the church - as the Hope of the world. Jorge carries that same Hope as the Lead Pastor of Grace Church in Southwest Florida.
“You don’t just step over the line of faith, say “yes” to Jesus and, bang, everything is fixed," he said. "The Christian life is a pilgrimage. It’s a journey. And that is also true of vital congregations.”
Grace Church has one of the largest and most effective recovery ministries in America. Grace is also one of the fastest growing churches in Methodism today. At LCI2014 Jorge will be speaking about creating and fostering vital congregations.
Jorge Acevedo is part of LCI2014’s dynamic keynote speaker line-up which includes Mark Batterson, Dr. Timothy C. Tennent, Chip Ingram, and Rev. Sharma Lewis.
LCI2014 Continuum - Engaging All Generations conference is being hosted by Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church in Johns Creek April 28-30, 2014.
