The North Georgia Conference will soon welcome Action Ministries staff to 1700 Century Center. A related-agency of the Conference, Action Ministries mobilizes communities to address the challenges of poverty by focusing on hunger relief, housing and education.
The organization will sub-lease the lower floor of the building which houses the United Methodist Center and Bishop's Office on the upper level.
The lower level of the building is currently empty and office space will be constructed for 30-35 staff members with space available for visiting field staff, volunteers, and partners who support Action Ministries programs. The offices have street level entrance and parking. Action Ministries expects to move into the space in July 2016.
"It positions our North Georgia Conference staff closely to one of our most important ministry partners," explained Keith Cox, Conference Treasurer and Director of Administrative Services. "Additionally, subleasing reduces the annual net cost of our lease with Highwoods Properties."
The move provides Action Ministries the opportunity to combine its Housing and Central Administrative Teams, providing for increased efficiency and cost savings. This move coincides with the expiration of a multi-year lease at their current location.
