Epworth By The Sea Invites Georgia UMs to 'Come To The Coast and UNITE'

The clergy and laity of the North Georgia Annual Conference are cordially invited to Epworth by the Sea in St. Simons Island for its first Winter Conference Jan 31-Feb 3, 2016.  Outstanding preaching and Bible teaching will “UNITE” us in new and creative ways.

The focus is to "UNITE" in spiritual formation and worship, bridging barriers of separation to be a greater witness to the world. The conference includes evening worship and morning Bible teaching led by renowned Bible scholar, Dr. J. D. Walt, former Chaplain of Asbury Theological Seminary. He now serves as the Chief Sower and ultimate visionary behind the Seedbed.com. Seedbed seeks to resource "people, communities and movements to love the whole world with the whole gospel." J.D. sows like a champion each day on Seedbed Daily Text. Most importantly, though, he demonstrates the Seedbed mantra of Sola Sancta Caritas (Only Holy Love) as he gives leadership to Seedbed's publishing vision, development, design, and tribe.

Co-leading worship each night will be the Rev. Jay Hanson from the Chapel United Methodist Church and the Rev. David Yarborough from St. Simons Community Church along with their worship teams. Pastors of the largest and fastest growing congregations in the Golden Isles, Hanson and Yarborough will bring their music and worship teams for added blessings. South Georgia's Bishop James R. King, Jr., will serve Holy Communion on Wednesday morning following the Bible study.

"This is the quality time we all need for spiritual renewal as we search for and seek to discover God's will in our lives and ministry," says Epworth. Two CEU units will be awarded. Registration and room reservation information is online atwww.epworthbythesea.org
