NEXT Servants Needed: Volunteer for UM Student Movement National Event in Atlanta

10/6/2016

Servants are needed throughout NEXT (the weekend of Nov. 4 – 6). The national young people's event will be held at The Tabernacle in Atlanta and is sponsored by the United Methodist Student Movement. Servants will help direct, guide, and participate with attendees throughout the weekend.

Opportunities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • greeters,
  • information desk,
  • help with registration,
  • pack bags,
  • attend the community gatherings as guides,
  • door attendants (checking badges to enter the venue and the food truck area)
  • Servants should be from our local UM churches!

You will have the option to sign-up and work in 2-4 hour blocks. Training will take place Friday, November 4, time and place to be TBD.  Due to limited parking, we suggest taking MARTA or the trolley car (there is a stop right in front of The Tabernacle) or have someone drop you off and pick you up. A parking pass may be available but we will need to know in advance. Servants will receive free registration, t-shirt, snacks, boxed lunch or food truck dinner depending upon their schedule.

Please contact Rori Francis Blakeney at 404-368-0687 rblakeney@umcdiscipleship.org or Rev. Sheila Bates at 615-340-7570 or sbates@gbhem.org for the registration code as well as any questions.
