The Well at Andros Island

The Well, a new United Methodist Church in Cartersville, took 14 people to Andros Island in the Bahamas. According to Pastor Andy Postell, 12 of the 14 had never been on an international mission trip. In fact, many of them are relatively new to church. The experience was tremendous. Not only were they able to roof 3 different houses, the group also put together a Vacation Bible School for a settlement on the island which included about 20-25 children. All of the team really enjoyed being able to interact with the children of the island. As one of the team members put it, "The team left with the expectation of teaching the children about faith and were surprised to learn so much about faith from the children."
Upon returning to the church, the group shared their experiences with the congregation in a celebration worship service on June 28th. Each team member was interviewed by Pastor Andy about specific events that took place during the mission trip. It was a great way of helping the congregation to experience a small part of the mission experience.
