We are doing well over all as a family. We are seeking discernment for Anne's next step as our children get to kindergarten & 2nd grade next year.   I am the new conference coordinator of Resettlement & Immigration ministries. Need vision & direction in this new role.  Thanks,

Matt

Thank you for your prayers. Personally, I ask that you pray for my family. Our oldest son is struggling in school and we are trying to diagnose what is going on. Regarding the church, please pray for clarity of vision as we try to be effective in ministering the new location that God has placed us in - in downtown Canton.

The Fountain UMC
Rev. Andy Lett
hanks for your message. I am the Lead Pastor of The Fountain UMC, which we are planting right now and is NGUMC's newest church. We are located in Suwanee on the south end of Forsyth County. There are many things you can be praying for as we move forward.

1) Pray that God will continue to strengthen, encourage, and use my wife, Mandy, and me.

2) Pray for God to bring more people who believe in our vision and want to help us launch The Fountain.

3) We are planning to launch in the coming months and we are in the gathering phase or core group phase. It's dependent on being able to gather a lot of people. Pray that God will continue to gather people for this church and help us to impact the lives of so many in our community.

4) Our second biggest need as a new church is to raise a lot money to fund the BIG ministry God is calling us toward. Pray that God will bless us beyond measure as we raise money on the front end. We have found that most people who start coming to church are more "tippers" rather than "tithers", so it takes time to disciple new people on giving. That's why it's important to raise money from individuals, churches, and organizations as we start out.

5) Pray as we begin looking for the right person to lead worship.

6) Pray in general for our decisions, relationships, and ministry as we look to launch a healthy, vibrant church in 2012 that will impact the lives of so many that are not connected with Jesus or even a church.

7) Pray that God will lead us to the right space to meet in as we get closer to launch season.

8) Praise: You can praise God for the progress of The Fountain so far. It's pretty exciting. We have about 70 on average in worship in just 2 preview worship services. We are doing preview services once a month to give people a taste of what we will be doing and to build momentum. We have another preview service this Sunday. We will still continue gathering people and plan to launch with much more, but God has enabled us to reach many right now. We are meeting in small groups called ReFresh Groups across the area where we are already discipling many who have not been in church or have a relationship with Christ. We have many strong Christians who are helping us launch the church in order to connect people to "life, hope, purpose, and wholeness through Jesus Christ." God added six more people last Sunday who committed to help us launch the church, which adds to the already 35-40 people on our launch team. We have an awesome Director of Children's Ministry and that ministry is really coming together well. We did our first children's ministry activities during our last preview service and that seems to be a huge need that we will meet in our community. We have positioned ourselves as a partner with Johns Creek Elementary, a few neighborhoods, and other community organizations. People in the community are really touched that a church would be this involved in the community. We are blessed to be a part of what God is doing and excited about the bright future. Thanks so much for your prayers! God is at work!

Next week is timely for us as we are having a Church Conference on November 28th that will be an important time as we cast a vision for the future. Pray that we will be able to write the vision and make it plain and that our people will step courageously into the future that we will be able to reach more people with the message of Jesus Christ in our community and that we will discover new ways to be His witnesses to our community through increased missional ministries.

Please pray that we remain faithful to God's call on our church.  Also for our church finances and the well being of our community.  This economy has hurt our area espcially hard with some of the highest unemployment in the state.  Thank you for your minsitry.
