Sanctuary for Sugar Hill Hispanic

January 10, 2010 Sugar Hill Hispanic Move
Almost 10 years ago Sugar Hill UMC took a leap of faith by opening its doors to the rapidly growing Latino population in their community.  Pastor Vani Pino, with the support of the Anglo congregation and its pastors, led the growth of the Spanish speaking congregation with experiences of faith communities meeting in homes, a lively worship service, English classes, youth ministry, visitation, and many other programs, all with a commitment to reach out with the transforming message of the gospel.
The Spanish worship service has grown to  200 in worship, outgrowing the chapel where they have been weekly worshipping.  Taking another leap of faith, with support from the whole church, English-speaking and Spanish-speaking, on January 10, 2010, the Spanish worship service moved to Sugar Hill UMC's main sanctuary, at 12:30 pm on Sundays.  Sugar Hill UMC has faithfully reached out to the those living in its community, opening their doors and hearts to express God's love.
We praise God for the many lives that continue to be touched and transformed through the ministry of this church.
