Pastor Comments:
“I laughed. I cried. I loved the whole thing.”
“I attended boot camp after the fact. We were already established and on our way as a worshiping congregation but I sensed the need to go back and fill in some holes and re-focus on our vision. I asked if I could sit in on Bootcamp … and wow! All the way through, I kept saying, “I wish I’d known that before we started.” The training helped me to get a better grip on discipling folks financially – something I totally missed when we first started. I learned a more systematic approach to reaching new people. And I learned how to set better boundaries to care for myself and my family. We want to be in this for the long-haul, and Jim has helped us keep that perspective.”
Carolyn Moore, Pastor, Mosaic UMC, Augusta
Bootcamp with Jim Griffith gave me the tools to unpack the vision God had given me to plant a church and to translate it into relevant ministry. These tools are not just beneficial to new starts, but will work to help anyone with a vision for ministry to create an exciting and dynamic ministry to benefit the Kingdom of God!
Kyle Smith, Pastor, Life Springs UMC, Pike County
"The bootcamp gave our team useful, practical guidance for launching a new church. We continually refer back to the experiences and insights Jim shared with us. The bootcamp created opportunities for us to learn from each other and Jim challenged us to put the systems and procedures in place, from day one, to grow the Kingdom of God in our community."
Eric Lee, Pastor, The Bridge UMC, Cartersville.
Jim Griffith’s Bootcamp was an immersive experience for my wife and me as we considered how God was using us to plant a new church. It gave us a clearer sense of Gods vision for Lighthouse, as well as helped give us the vocabulary to engage the community with the message of God’s light and love. I also found it extremely helpful in alerting me to potential pitfalls in church planting so I could work to avoid them, or manage them once they developed. Jim’s clear and no-nonsense approach is great in helping understand the nuts and bolts of the joys, as well as challenges, of starting a new church. I highly recommend it!
Mark Jordan, Pastor, The Lighthouse UMC, Peachtree City
The Jim Griffith Church Planting Boot camp was for me a jolt to the system! It awakened within me, both a deeper level of passion for church planting and the awareness of the level of work and resources needed to successfully plant a church. Simply put, it must be a "must do" for the pastor who is already committed to planting or even one who is just considering it.
Chris Bryant, Pastor, City On A Hill UMC, Woodstock
Nothing will prepare a church planter better for the facing the rigors of launching a church than boot camp. I constantly go back to my notes from my first boot camp and I am preparing to return now that our church is 5 months into our launch. Whatever you thought you knew about starting a new church, Jim Griffith will give you a reality check and prepare you for what is in store!
Ken Hagler, Pastor, Crossroads UMC, Dallas
The "Jim Griffith Boot Camp" gave me the awareness of so many aspects of “New Church Devolvement” which in turn saved me from making so many mistakes and also prevented unneeded extra work. This training gave me knowledge of situations and resources and how to use them for the Kingdom of GOD! I have and am using all that I have learned with great appreciation to Jim Griffith.
Carole Hulslander, Pastor, Still Waters UMC, Atlanta.

"Ten Most Common Mistakes Made by New Church Starts is a down-to-earth guide that challenges not only church planters but also church members to focus on those who are not in church yet. It is this focus that makes churches grow healthy and expands the message of the Gospel."
Nora Colmenares Martinez, Office of New Church Development
