History of Parish Life
During Annual Conference 2008 it was recommended by the Conference Staff Task Force and approved by Conference delegates that a new program team, “Congregational Development” be formed, and that several program tasks being carried out by the Board of Church Development be reassigned to this new Program Team.
The team’s name was later changed to “Parish Life” and is now housed under the Office of Connectional Ministries with the following designations: Existing Church Development and Grants, Natural Church Development, Small Membership Churches, and Church Staff Development. Additionally, through a Conference Staff Tasking amendment, Existing Black Church Development was moved to Connectional Ministries and is now under Parish Life.
