With a well-planned and prayed-over strategy your mission outreach can attain specific goals and be impacting. Simply responding to needs, missionaries' personalities, and mission agency marketing abilities will keep you busy, but won't necessarily have the greatest impact for the Kingdom. In this workshop we will look at how to stretch your church's vision, set priorities, and implement an intentional Acts 1:8 plan.

Missions Celebration Event: What is It, How Do We Do It?

The Workshop has been designed to assist all Churches, no matter how experienced they may be with missions and no matter how many mission partnerships they maintain. We will take you through the five “P’s” of conducting an annual “party” to celebrate missions: Purpose, Planning, Preparation, Promotion and Prayer.
There are techniques for building mission connection within your church and we will share practical approaches that can be easily used to help the transformation to becoming a more mission focused church. Resources are available that can be incorporated into your mission committee and mission trips and local service that will assist the celebration process.
The missionary book is the Bible that calls us to serve Him and declares God’s desire that all the nations would come to know Him, love Him, and worship Him. Mission’s needs to be about reinforcing the call to serve and helping all church members connect with the opportunity to share their gifts and commitment to Christ. We will share specific experiences of successes from churches that have ‘gone beyond their walls’ to take the Gospel to the world. Come and learn about turning mission compassion into action.

The Disaster Prepared Church
Speaker: Mike Yoder
When disaster strikes, everyone is trying to figure out where to go, what to do, and who to call. Local churches are in a unique position to be a positive force in responding. Many congregations already address the special needs of their communities. People will naturally turn to the church in times of crisis, seeking assistance, meaning and healing.
Disasters do not wait for training and preparation, so identification of potential disaster risks for your church and staff, membership, and community, anticipating what might happen, determine what can or cannot be done, and meeting the needs. This also involves training and preparation for individuals and family, special needs individuals, church schools, and businesses in addition to church preparation.
Come and learn how you can be a Disaster Prepared Church and get connected.
Revitalizing Your Congregation with Urban Ministry
Speakers: Jim Ellison, Elliot Stotler
How engaged is your church in serving the poor and those in need in our urban areas? Many churches struggle with responding fully to the Gospel call while avoiding the common pitfall of too much inward focus. A healthy church must breathe in through worship and study and breathe out by serving others. This workshop offers specific strategies for getting beyond the walls of the local church and using contact with the urban poor to transform individual members and the church. Learn ways to engage in transformational cross-cultural ministry right in your backyard, no airline ticket required.

Blending Mission and Evangelism on Mission Trips
Speakers: Winston Worrell
Within the Wesleyan tradition, several parts of our movement are creatively blending mission and evangelism as a part of the life of the church and further involving mission teams in this process. In addition, more and more mission teams are searching for creative ways to weave evangelism into their mission trips. This workshop will briefly deal with the biblical and theological grounding for blending mission and evangelism, then focus on practical outworking of this in mission across our movement, and then will invite involvement of participants in sharing their experiences in this regard.
PARTNER:
Making Your Partnership Work
Speakers: Donna Goff
As our world changes, so do the needs of the church. This generation of the church in America is no longer interested in sending money to a missionary in Africa and feeling they have met the command of the Great Commission. This generation wants to be involved in the fulfillment of this command:
- Hands on ministry in missions
- Strategic planning
- Personal relationships
- Challenge of creating partnerships
As we look at the needs of the church on the local level and the needs of the church cross culturally, we see they can also meet in multi ethnic ministries in our communities. We can see the need for ministries in our communities (Our Jerusalem); that are regional (Our Judea); ministries that are challenging or marginal in its outreach (Our Samaria); and those ministries that we partner with people groups and cultures outside the continental United States (Our Ends of the Earth)..
