Director for GC& SU Wesley Foundation
The Georgia College & State University Wesley Foundation is looking for a new Spirit filled director. The director will lead Wednesday night services geared toward college students. Also, the director will oversee accountability groups, Bible Studies, and Biblical counseling to students, if needed. Part Time Music Minister (15-20 hr.)
Music Minister (Part Time 15-20 hr/wk)

The position involves designing, planning and leading worship with the pastor. Vinings UMC, located NW of Atlanta inside the perimeter, seeks to have blended worship with traditional and contemporary songs, a variety of musicians and utilizing the arts. The right person for this position will lead 2 worship services.

Main Tasks
1. Main task is to oversee and grow a powerful worship ministry that encourages people to offer their best, God given abilities to worship God through worship arts
2. Plan worship to match preaching/seasonal themes with the pastor
3. Lead worship on Sunday mornings and all special worship services (Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, and Holy Week Services). Other worship events, seminars, will be on a contract basis with payment of $75-$150 depending on the event and requirements.
4. Person applying for this job must have positive people skills and possess the ability to work collaboratively with a largely volunteer choir and altar committee.
5. Recruit and develop a choir. This will require that the music minister both schedule and conduct weekly choir rehearsal. Responsible for reaching out and recruiting persons into all areas of music and/or worship ministry (including personal contact) to grow the music ministry.
6. Assist in growing the church to support a growing music ministry
7. Utilizing the arts in all facets of worship including, but not limited to drama, dance, visual arts, music, etc.
8. Monthly hymn/communion service at the local nursing home (includes lunch after church). Third Sunday a month from 1 pm-1:30 pm.
9. Creates and oversees music budget (the ability to work with a limited budget)
10. Monthly Church leadership team meetings (or a report for the meeting if cannot attend).
11. Assists in coordinating all non-Sunday morning Worship Ministry as needed (such as funerals, seasonal events, revivals, Easter, Christmas, Holy Week, retreats, etc.)


Required Skills and Background

1. Must play the piano or organ proficiently, preferably both instruments. Must be comfortable with both contemporary and traditional worship music. Skills and Background should include technical competence in choral conducting; familiarity with church music; skills vocal coaching; positive people skills; good organizational skills; some knowledge of audio & video technology used in worship. The church strongly prefers formal training and education in music with experience in a local church.
2. Familiarity with audio equipment and the ability to train a sound operator if needed
3. Must be aware of and request funds for continuing education. Emphasis should be given to worship & music training offered through the United Methodist Church
4. Vacation Days – 2 are allowed per year and the music minister will find a suitable replacement.
