Rev. Gary Whetstone is the Superintendent of the Athens Elberton District. He most recently served as senior pastor of Mountain Park UMC in Stone Mountain.
"Having spent nine years in the Athens-Elberton District, I know of its strength and good work," said Whetstone. "It excites me to think of returning to it and many of my friends."
"Diane, and I acknowledge the honor of it all," he said of the appointment, "and are praying that, through God's grace, we will worthily occupy the place of the Athens-Elberton District parsonage family."
