UMITA - United Methodist Information Technology Association

The United Methodist Information Technology Association (UMITA) provides professional networking, resources, and knowledge to empower its members to provide technological leadership in the mission, ministry, and administration of the church.

Membership

Membership in UMITA is open to annual conferences, local churches, provisional conferences, central conferences, missionary conferences, jurisdictional conferences or general boards or agencies.

The annual UMITA membership fee is $100. UMITA dues are paid per organization, not per individual. The organization shall designate its voting representative at the time its dues are paid.

Annual Meeting Information

The 2009 conference take place September 14-17, 2009 at The Lodge at Simpsonwood in Norcross, GA. Simpsonwood is the conference and retreat center of the North Georgia Conference.

Tentative Schedule:

Monday:
Optional trip to Six Flags over Georgia
Evening Registration

Tuesday:
Full day of workshops focused on local church IT issues (web, email, worship, etc).

Wednesday
Morning workshops focused  on conference and agency related IT issues
Afternoon trip to Centennial Olympic Park (GA Aquarium, CNN, World of Coke) and Jurisdictional Dinners in Atlanta.

Thursday:
Morning Business Meeting and General Agency Presentations

Registration

There will be three ways to register:

  • Entire conference Sept. 14 - 17.
  • Church workshops on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
  • Vendor registrations for Tuesday, Sept. 15.

Hotel Accomodations

The Lodge at Simpsonwood:

  • Rates can't be published but they are lower than we have paid in years!
  • Overnight rates include all meals.
  • Per person rates are lower for shared rooms.
  • Free wireless Internet access in all overnight rooms, conference rooms, and public areas.
