Youth Mission Trip to Bahamas

Bahamas - North GA Conference Youth Ministry
the week of June 21 -28
Our conference youth ministry is hosting an incredible opportunity that has just been made available! Scott Parrish (Minister of Missions at Trinity on the Hill UMC and director of the Wesley Foundation at Augusta State) and  Margaret Freeman (that's me - your conference director of youth and young adult ministries) recently returned from a site visit to Nassau, Bahamas with youth and young adult ministry folks from other conferences. Through our connection with the youthworker movement, we are combining with other United Methodist youth groups for a mission experience that combines a variety of mission experiences to help those very much in need, both the Bahamians and the Haitians, who have come to the Bahamas to escape the persecution in their own country, but are having a very difficult time in a new place. We are hoping to have a huge group from North Georgia take part in this mission experience the week of June 21 -28. Scott will be heading up our North Georgiacontingent that week, and his years of leading mission trips for young people will be a great asset for helping you and your group have a meaningful experience. This kind of experience is especially good for those groups that are taking their first mission trip out of the U.S. but are looking for something not so far away, where language is not a barrier, accomodations are comfortable, and there will be quality worship and praise in the evenings. You can choose from a variety of projects that fit your group's interests. This is a trip where you definitely will be with lots of United Methodist youth, as we are planning for 600 that week with several different conferences joining together. Family English Camp Czech Republic

McEachern UMC and their sister church Jihlava Evangelical Methodist Church join together for their sixth annual family English Camp. 

Building Repair and VBS in Honduras

This will be Jackson UMC's second visit to El Paraiso.  Focus of the trip will be evangalism through VBS and helping with needed building repairs

UMVIM Mission Trip to Ghana

North Georgia UMVIM Ghana Trip- August 17-29th 
We will fly Delta through JFK NY.
Doctors, Dentist, Nurses, Children Workers and people to share their faith with an unreached people group in North Ghana West Africa are needed for annual North Georgia Conference UMVIM Trip set for August 17-29. We will be guest of our own NGA missionaries there in Ghana, Rev. and Mrs. Mike and Claire Mozley.  Any Christian who has been on a mission trip outside the US or has traveled outside the US and is a “Happy Camper” is welcome regardless of skills!  We need people involved in Children’s ministry and people who would like to be.  We need other lay people and clergy who are willing to share their testimony and faith when given the opportunity as we visit with the missionaries.  For further information contact Jim Lowry at 770-428-0071 or e-mail jim.lowry@ngumc.net.
