Gordon and Maria Greathouse have worked as missionaries to Brazil since 1978. Currently he is helping develop a new urban minisry program in Belo Horizonte, Brazil's third largest city, that involves both evangelism and social action. He is a native of Portland, Ore., and holds degrees from Willamette University and Union Theological Seminary. Since 1996, Teca (Maria Tereza) has served as the Brazilian coordinator of the Latin America Network of Programs Supporting Children sponsored by the Latin America Council of Churches. She also works with the national coordinator of educational programs of the Brazilian Methodist Church, especially in the area of editing training materials and leading workshops. She is a native Brazilian. Gordon and Teca have three children, Robert, Mark and Jose.

Both Jeffrey and Ellen Hoover work as educators in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Jeffrey is professor at Katanga Methodist University where he both teaches and serves as chief librarian. He also teaches at the public University of Lubumbashi. He holds degrees from Luther College and Yale University. Ellen is a part-time professor at the United Methodist university in Mulungwishi and works with The English-speaking School of Lubumbashi, an elementary and middle school for children of missionaries and other English-speaking families in a city where French is the common langauge. She has degrees from Duke University and Yale University. The Hoovers' children include Jane, Jeremy and Mark.

The Rev. Bill Lovelace serves as a pastor and district superintendent in Kiev, Ukraine. The focus of his assignment is evangelism and church development, including the establishment of a new UM congregation in the capital city. A native of Orlando, Fla., he holds degrees from the University of Tennessee and Asbury Theological Seminary and has studied several different languages. Helen Lovelace, a native of Norway, works in the areas of women's issues, social outreach and ministries with families struggling with drug and alcohol abuse issues. She also serves as Area Financial Executive for the UMC in Ukraine and Moldova.

Dakin Cook and Sara Flores are currently on temporary assignment with the General Board of Global Ministries, serving as the Regional Executive for Latin America and the Carribean. Dakin served as a missionary to Bolivia from 1993-2007, working with the Evangelical Methodist Church in Bolivia. He holds degrees from Columbia State Community College and the University of Tennessee. As a missionary, Sara Flores worked to strengthen the Bolivian church's health and education ministries. Her degree is from the Universidad Mayor de San Simon, and she has done post-graduate studies in community health.

A native of Cambodia, Joseph Chan now serves as an ordained pastor and district superintendent in the Methodist Mission in Cambodia. He has served as a missionary since 1998, focusing on the areas of evangelization and church growth. He is a former Buddhist who escaped to Thailand from the "killing fields" and an enslavement camp in Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge persecution. In Thailand he converted from Buddhism to Christianity and began leading Bible studies with other refugees. Marilyn Chan serves with the Methodist Mission in Cambodia as Women and Music Ministry Coordinator. In her work with women, she seeks to empower them, particularly in ways that improve their health and economic standing and enhance their spiritual growth. She, too, was enslaved by the Khmer Rouge and escaped to Thailand where she became a Chrsitian. The Chans are the parents of a son and two daughters.

Mozart Adevu is the Africa Regional Coordinator for the Sustainable Agriculture and Development Program of the United Methodist Committee on Relief. His main focus is providing leadership in training of farmers and he works extensively in the planting/cultivation of moringa trees. The moringa tree is a source for treatment of several diseases. He is a native of Ghana, and he and his wife, Janet Mina, are the parents of three children.

Cherie White is a missionary with the Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church presently assigned to the Seminario Dr. Gonzalo Baez Camargo of the United Methodist Church of Mexico, where she has been since 1992. She is the Academic Dean and teaches courses in Church History and Bible.
The Methodist Seminary offers courses at high school (three years) and college (four years) levels, and the student body is about half female and half male. An extension program provides courses for over 300 students who are either lay pastors or lay persons wanting to know more or be better Sunday School teachers. Continuing education courses, which take place each January, have guest speakers from the U.S. and Latin America who offer new insights. The seminary also serves three of Mexico's six Annual Conferences.
The daughter of Methodist missionaries, Cherie was born in Chile and raised in Cuba. She earned a Master of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Arizona and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA, and is currently enrolled in a Doctor of Ministry program. Her first appointment serving with GBGM was in Chile from 1972-75. In 1975 she transferred to Mexico and worked with several agencies before her assignment to the seminary.
Cherie is married to Rev. Jose Luis Velazco, a retired UM missionary, and they are the parents of four children.

Ron and Belinda grew up in Georgia. Following 10 years of fruitful pastoral ministry in the North Georgia Conference of The United Methodist Church, Ron and his family moved to Nairobi, Kenya in 1988 to establish Evangelism Explosion (EE) ministry in Africa. During the first eight years, Ron introduced and established the EE ministry in 48 African nations. In March 2008, Ron was appointed to serve as Senior Vice President of EE International. Ron directs the leadership of the global ministries which encompasses the seven continents: Africa, Asia, Eurasia (the nations of the former U.S.S.R.), Europe, Latin America (Central and South America), North America, and Oceania (Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific islands). Ron oversees the continental Vice Presidents, the Regional Directors, and the national leaders.

Reverend Rhett Thompson is a Board of Global Ministries United Methodist missionary assigned to the Republic of Panama, serving as pastor of an Evangelical Methodist Church in Panama City.
In addition to his pastoral duties, Rev. Thompson has coordinated efforts of the church to strengthen its outreach into the surrounding low-income neighborhood through a day-care program and other projects. Rhett also serves as the National Coordinator of Volunteers in Mission Program in Panama, helping mission teams from the UMC in the selection of projects as well as with all of the logistical details involved. Projects include construction and medical services.
In recent years Rhett has been involved in the development of a comprehensive rural health project which serves the Ngobe indians, who are the poorest of the poor in Panama. This project includes the provision of potable water, adult literacy classes, community organization, and pre-school education for the Ngobe children.
Rhett also participates in the Camping Ministry Team which is developing a camping ministry that emphasizes making disciples through small groups. The team is designing and directing the construction of a new camp ideally suited for that ministry.
Prior to his Latin American assignment, Rhett was a youth minister at Bright Star United Methodist Church in Douglasville, Georgia. He has been active in social service, environmental conservation, and peace and justice work.

Jon and Jeanne Herrin serve as missionaries to Mexico through the Mission Society. They have three children - Jesse, Megan, and Andrew. Jon teaches pastors-in-training at the Seminario Metodista Juan Wesley (John Wesley Methodist Seminary) in the heart of Monterrey which trains pastors for four of the northern conferences in the Methodist Church of Mexico. Jeanne teaches in the local Methodist elementary school. Jon and Jeanne also host short-term mission trips and help support the local Methodist Churches in the Monterrey area.
