North Georgia Conference Plans Two Bahamas Mission Trips for Older Youth
That's right! We've have two different weeks for this trip because there are a number of churches and youth who are making plans to participate. Join the youth who have finished 9th grade and participate in a North Georgia Conference Summer Mission Trip to The Bahamas, May 31st through June 6th or June 7th through June 13th, 2015.
The trip is open to any older teenagers (those between 14-18 years old this June) in the conference who would like to attend. (College age youth can participate as junior counselors.) Participants will serve through The Bahamas Methodist Habitat, a disaster relief and emergency home repair outreach ministry of the Bahamas Conference of the Methodist Church. Service opportunities are many for these islands: repair or build homes of people who need help, working a the new Zion Orphanage (on Current Island), working with health clinics, or preparing supplies for communities in need. Come enjoy your island neighbors and discover how God can use you in some remarkable and amazing ways in another culture and country.
Cost for the trip is $750 plus the cost of airfare between Atlanta and Eleuthera, Bahamas. Airfare usually runs between $450 and $650, but as time gets closer to departure this cost will increase. We have some spots left on our group airfare rate of $550, making the current cost $1300, which includes airfare, transportation, food and lodging once we arrive at the camp, site leaders, and supplies for the work you will do. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required upon registration. There is limited space available (20 for the first week and 20 for the second week) and people are excited about this trip, so you are urged to get registered early. One adult must also attend for every five youth a church sends.
