About NGA Mission

Your conference mission and outreach leadership helps congregations and districts through training, networking, and creating a vital connectional mission.

Your Global Ministries Committee of the Outreach Team is the Conference link for the UMC General Board of Global Ministries. As the official mission agency of the United Methodist Church, Global Ministries offers guidance in all areas of missions from helping select a missioner to help sponsoring the Mission Education Event through the conference UMW and the Global Ministries Committee. The committee also recognizes the Churches of Excellence in mission.

The Disaster Response Committee seeks to be the linkage between UMCOR and local congregation; so often congregations want to reach out in the midst of disaster whether in Thomson, Georgia, or the Gulf coast, yet we are uncertain how to respond without getting in the way.  The Disaster Response Committee is ready help prepare us to be the caring arms of Christ by providing training in disaster response.

On the local level the Resettlement Taskforce provides training in resettlement issues for refugees and other displaced persons. One of the questions of the prophets was how did we care for the stranger.  Your Resettlement Taskforce can help all of us to know how to care for the stranger.

The Health and Wellness Committee seeks to realize that our  bodies are the temple of the Lord.  The caring of our bodies and bodies of others is an ongoing task of the Church.  There are so many health issues facing our society.  This committee will open new doors and opportunities of service.

United Methodist Volunteers In Mission (UMVIM) is the short-term mission agency of the Southeastern Jurisdiction of the United Methodist Church.  UMVIM exists to promote, encourage, and enable Christians to exemplify “Christian Love In Action” through short-term mission service in the United States and abroad.
