According to a recent Nielsen report -
"it's easy to get caught up in the hype around teenagers. The notion that teens are too busy texting and Twittering to be engaged with traditional media is exciting, but false."
This report is an interesting one for those in ministry with young people, as it addresses some myths and gives you statistics from their research on how teens use media.
For example - according to their research, teens spend 11 hours and 32 minutes per month browsing online, far below the average of adults at 29 hours and 15 minutes.
As with any report, you may find both some similarities and some differences in what you see with your own youth - but it does provide some helpful information as you think about how best to connect with youth using modern technology. Of course, the best way to connect will always be "face-to-face!"
