Summer worship series for June and July:
Genesis: Rated ‘M’ for ‘Mature’
For God’s children of all ages.
We typically tell the G rated version of the Genesis Bible stories to children. For example, we decorate our nurseries with images of Noah and the ark, and we tell our children cute stories about animals and rainbows. However, we neglect the human sinfulness and divine judgment which is at the heart of the story. We are revisiting the Genesis stories, but this time they are rated “M” for “Mature.” A deeper understanding of these tales helps us to grow up to become mature children of God.
