Just Thinking... Ending Strong

2/20/2017

I'm hoping to end strong.

There is so much happening, and so many things to accomplish. My heart is beginning to be weary by it all and by the impossibility of ending strong. How can I do all I need to do to make sure that the Atlanta Emory District is poised to take next step and to move to a new level of service to Christ Jesus our Lord?

I guess after six years you all understand that I set high standards for myself and strive to be the best I can be for you, for the Church, and for Christ. Often times I fall short of this goal, but with prayer and the support of so many, I stand up and dust myself off and try again. But an end is in sight, and there is still so much I long to do with you, so much I want to say to you, like the Apostle Paul.

The best comfort I have found in these days of overflowing calendars and texts is that JESUS IS WITH ME.  According to Sarah Young in Jesus Calling, "These four words are like a safety net, protecing me from falling into despair." She continues, "Sometimes you may feel as if you are in a free fall ... Yet as soon as you remember that I am with you, your perspective changes radically ... You can look to me for help."

How often I forget this truth. It has never been by my power, by my might or my wisdom, or by my hard work that this district has done and is doing great ministry for the Kingdom of Christ. It is all by the love of Christ lived in and through me ... and through you, my sisters and brothers.

Yes, there is much to do, and I will do my best to leave you strong and ready for a new day. But it will be God who gives me the strength and peace to fulfill my call for this season which is coming to an end.

I was just thinking, am I the only one who struggles so and forgets? I hope so ... but if not, remember, my dear sisters and brothers, JESUS IS WITH YOU, too, and Jesus will never leave you nor forsake you.

Let's keep the faith, and we will be able to offer faith to all.

Life and love to you all,

Dana

I covet your prayers for the Appointive Cabinet as we begin our work this week and during the second week of March.
