Commit the fifth (and final) key of discipleship to memory: thus far, we've learned four keys of discipleship. Can you name them?
1) Disciples have a personal relationship with Jesus lived out through the spiritual disciplines.
2) Disciples participate in a small group for mutual growth and accountability.
3) Disciples serve others through acts of love that build the Kingdom of God.
4) Disciples are stewards of every aspect of their lives.
The fifth key: Disciples share the Gospel and make disciples (who make disciples who make disciples).
Our ultimate goal...our "end game" as disciples of Jesus is to make disciples of Jesus. We are called to multiply and not simply add people to the family of God. This means that we aim to equip people in their journeys of faith so that they hear the call of Jesus and feel empowered to equip other people in their journeys of faith.
Ask one person this week about their spiritual journey. Listen attentively. Ask her/him questions to clarify what you are hearing. In turn, ask her/him if you can share your own spiritual journey with Jesus (the five minute version).
Always praying for you,
Brian
