Director of Student Ministries (20 hours per week)


St. Andrew UMC in Marietta is seeking a part-time Director of Student Ministries to lead a growing and exciting youth program. The Director of Student Ministry serves as the primary implementer of student ministry, casting the vision, directing the plan, and developing collaboration and cohesion among the staff, students, volunteers and student families. The Director is to supervise and give direction for ministries to students in grades 6 -12. This person will oversee, organize, and implement ministry to, with, and alongside students to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. The Director will oversee weekly student programming: Sunday school, UMYF, and Confirmation. The Director will spend time each week recruiting and supporting adult lay leaders. They will also plan and coordinate short-term studies, retreats, and mission trips throughout the year. The Director will need to create and manage the budget, implement curriculum, plan and execute service opportunities, organize fundraising events (Pumpkin Patch), train and support volunteers, work with SALT (Student Action Leadership Team), and create outreach opportunities to local mid high and senior high students. The Director should also work toward being an active part of student activities outside the church walls, such as school sports events and performances, FCA, and other extracurricular activities.
