Worship Technical Manager


Title:  Technical Manager
Supervision:  Director of Worship
Compensation:  Full time, Exempt  
Working Relationships: The Technical Manager reports directly to the Director of Worship and will
work cooperatively with Pastors, Worship Leaders, Worship and Events Coordinator, other staff and
General Job Description:  The Technical Manager is responsible for ensuring competent multimedia presentation at all NCUMC Worship Services and Events in need of technical / multi-media support.  This will involve recruiting, coordination, training, and direction in our Technical Ministry.  The Technical Manager must have strong video production skills with the ability to direct audio, lighting, media, and editing.

  • Strong knowledge of live audio production, both operation and setup
  • Advanced knowledge of sound, lighting, cameras, video editing, live streaming, and text/image presentation (ProPresenter 6, Yamaha Digital Mixer, Jands Vista, Adobe Premiere / After Effects, Blackmagic)
  • In-depth computer literacy on PC and MAC
  • Ability to manage, train, and support multimedia volunteers, effectively providing guidance and advice
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues (with our integrator as needed)
  • Self-starter: able to work independently on projects without being micromanaged
Primary Duties:
  • Reports to the Director of Worship to coordinate technical and multimedia needs for services and events at New Covenant United Methodist Church
  • Work with volunteer multimedia leaders on volunteer team training and scheduling for services and special events
  • Oversee equipment maintenance, upgrades, and long-term needs working with our integration company and trustees
  • Provide input and make recommendations for the multimedia budget
  • Production of videos of church ministries which includes writing, professionally videotaping and editing
  • Provide multimedia coverage for concerts, special events, weddings & funerals as well as outdoor events
  • Other duties as assigned
