Youth Director
Job Description
Dallas First United Methodist Church, located in Paulding County, is looking for an energetic and dedicated person to join our staff. We are seeking candidates for this position who will work with our students, families, and community, to further develop and grow our existing student ministry that serves students in grades 6th - 12th.
The ideal candidate for this position would have a basic understanding of the United Methodist Church and our theology, especially our Safe Sanctuary policies and procedures. Candidates must also be comfortable leading and teaching students about the Christian faith as well as be willing to lead students in missions that serve outside the walls of our church.
Applicants must be comfortable speaking and teaching in group settings, skilled in planning a program calendar, and willing to build meaningful relationships with middle school and high school students.
Candidates must be available for Wednesday evening programs, Sunday programming, and bi-monthly staff meetings. Office hours can be planned with flexibility in consultation with the lead pastor and the Leadership Board.
Salary commensurate with experience/training.
For Interested Seminary and Teaching Parish Students
This position also allows for opportunities to preach, assist in worship planning, and the administration of the Sacraments. Students will be given the opportunity to preach once every four to six weeks and opportunities to lead and experience other aspects of pastoral leadership. Dallas First UMC is interested in gaining a wonderful staff member to minister to youth, but we also want to help train and equip the next
generation of UM clergy.
