Murphy-Harpst: Corporate and Community Engagement Manager


Murphy-Harpst seeks a Corporate and Community Engagement Manager

  • Status: Salaried Exempt – Full Time
  • Department: Advancement
  • Reports To: Vice President of Advancement
  • Work Schedule: Generally, Monday – Friday, at least 40 hours per week, and includes some evenings and weekends. Some local and statewide travel required as needed.
Corporate and Community Engagement
  • Develop and execute fundraising strategies in order to generate awareness and solicit resources (financial and in-kind) from corporations, churches, colleges/universities, etc.
  • Continue on-going, effective relationships with key corporate and community stakeholders by maintaining a robust calendar of activities both on-campus and off-campus that benefit clients, staff or MHCC as whole.
  • Participate as a member of a local civic group and seek opportunities to present at other civic groups.
  • Provide corporate and community content for promotional literature, social media, special events, etc.
Volunteer and Visit Coordinator
  • Develop and maintain a policy and plan for the Volunteer and Visitor Experience.
  • Promote, coordinate, and oversee special events on and off-campus, including but not limited to, work teams, birthday parties, Christmas events, donor/stewardship events, etc.
  • Manage mission trips and internship programs, utilizing appropriate staff to execute programs.
  • Maintain communication and coordination with appropriate staff in order to evaluate volunteer needs.
  • Actively seek out volunteer related revenue generating opportunities (e.g., matched volunteer hours).
  • Coordinate an annual volunteer appreciation plan.
Special Projects
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of special projects for MHCC (e.g., Christmas House).
  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis/concentration in business, marketing, public relations, or related field.
  • Must have (5) or more years of experience in nonprofit advancement in areas related to volunteer coordination and corporate donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship.
  • Nonprofit experience in education, child welfare, or faith-based organizations preferred.
  • Polished and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-directed with exceptional organizational skills; able to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to manage exposure effectively and confidently to the public.
  • Able to provide administrative support using Microsoft Office, Constant Contact, and CRM software.
